Land of Nod - East of Eden

I know the children's clothing line Land of Nod but I never knew the Biblical land of Nod. East of Eden. Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the East of Eden Gen 4:16. Back up a little though. Gen 3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the East of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life. Talk about high-tech security!

So the Tree of Life is in the center of Eden. Adam and his family now live in Nod and cannot access the tree of life, lest they eat of the tree again and live forever. They already know good and evil - can't trust Eve, sure can't trust that serpent either.

Cain screws up and kills Abel. Dude, come on! Really? You know God can see ya! So he gets cursed to be a vagabond. He freaks out. It is one thing to be cursed, but then driven from Nod, to be exposed and risk getting killed? That's heavy. Here is the kicker though. He whines to God about his punishment. Seriously? Entitled fool! Anyway, he kills his brother, but whoever kills him will suffer vengeance seven times over. 😏. He even gets protection from God by getting a sign that warns people not to kill his murderous self. Whoa! Now I am really confused.
What a way to explain God's favor!

It is 2019. Hard to believe. So much has changed over the years, yet so much remains the same. Life has been kind to me; to mine. This morning was a beautiful awakening - a kick in the face by the one and only Shiloh. One of these days I will charge her for battery if my nose ever suffered a fracture. But life is beautiful even with its many challenges that we continue to face. Every day the sun rises. Sometimes it is hidden in the clouds, but we remain certain that it rose because we see the light of day.

I re-downloaded this app with the intention of capturing a desire to be passionate in my quest for knowledge. I claim to be a Christian and yet, embarrassingly, I know little of the secrets that lie in every line of the Word of God.

Genesis
I have replayed Genesis Chapter 1 and 2 several times. I am confused. I am excited. I am in awe of the stories that sound like fables but are true. I mean, listen. Giants lived and roamed the earth!
I wonder why God created man and woman in Chapter 1, then in chapter two He says there was no man to till the land. Wait a minute. Hellooooooo! Is this a trick chapter? Bishop Elect Uncle Charles Bass says first there was a strategy or plan in the spirit realm, then it was carried out in the earth realm in Genesis 2:5. I have so many questions! It does not make any sense! But then again, nothing of God makes sense to our human understanding. I hope to carry this yearning for spiritual understanding throughout my life. I need to know more of this reckless grace that God constantly grants me. May this be the beginning of the most beautiful of journeys.

Happy New Year!
